Entrepreneurship Minor

Cal Poly’s new entrepreneurship minor, open to students from all colleges, will allow you to develop the entrepreneurial mindset and skill set necessary for success in today’s economy. The program is a carefully chosen selection of courses from across the campus leading to a balanced and interdisciplinary approach. As a student in this minor, you will acquire the tools, develop the skills, and cultivate the mindset of an entrepreneur so that you may create economic and social value in any discipline.

The minor is designed with a limited number of prerequisites for courses*. As seen below, there are three required courses comprising a total of 12 units, and then students may choose from a variety of electives in their college and GE to gain the additional 12 units necessary.

How to Apply
Preference will be given to students with strong academic performance and established connections to the innovation and entrepreneurship programs on campus. For example, students working in the Hatchery, active in Cal Poly Entrepreneurs, living in Cal Poly lofts, etc., will be considered first for admission. Students who have already taken BUS 310 will be given preference.
