More About Layna
What has helped you become a successful student in OCOB?
Throughout my time in OCOB, I attribute much of my success to the role models I’ve crossed paths with. As a first-year, I joined the Women in Business Association and was introduced to an incredible group of driven, compassionate, and kind individuals. These women guided me through my first few weeks on college, my internship search, and inspired me to get more involved on campus. They taught me not only the value that comes with taking risks and getting involved, but also showed me what it meant to have an unwavering support system. I truly cannot imagine my college experience without the members of WIB by my side and am so grateful to have the opportunity to remain connected with the organization not only during my final years on campus, but for the rest of my life!
Internships During College
- Marketing Intern (LDR Ventures, San Luis Obispo, CA)
- Risk and Financial Advisory Case Competition / Internship (Deloitte)
- Audit and Assurance Intern (EY, Los Angeles, CA)
On/Off Campus Jobs
I am the co-founder of a small, lifestyle clothing boutique, 75 Degrees and Fuzzy. I founded the company during my senior year of high school and would sell clothes at small markets and in my friends home. Since then the business has expanded and I now run our e-commerce site with a team of several interns and employees, while also working with my partner to remotely manage a brick and mortar location in Carlsbad, CA.

One of my favorite off-campus activities is walking from my house to the Madonna Mountain trail and hiking up for sunset with my friends about once a week!
