Cal Poly Students Earn Top Honors in International Business Competition

After more than ten years of participation, a trio of International Business students in Professor J. Michael Geringer’s Advanced Seminar in International Management course earned the top honor in the Glo-Bus business strategy game. Not only is this the highest honor ever awarded to Cal Poly students participating in the simulation competition, but these students—Jordan Carson, Katie Talbert and Victoria Valentine–beat out nearly 1,300 other teams worldwide by taking first place in this installment of the competition. The simulation includes ten rounds, with each round signifying one year, in which the students must continuously manage and update their business strategy for a real-world digital camera company, from marketing and labor, to compensation and production costs.
