Over 300 alumni from across the country gathered at the Olympic Club in San Francisco to reconnect, network, kick back and celebrate Orfalea College of Business excellence. It was a spectacular night of food and drinks, friends new and old, and recognition of two perfect examples of Mustangs who are leading the way in their fields. The Green Spotlight Award went to Bridgette Beam (Economics ’08), head of programs and operations for Google for Startups. And the Gold Spotlight Award went to Joanne Smith (Business Administration ’82), chief human resources office for Delta Air Lines. Check out videos on each of the award winners.

Thanks to the more than 200 alumni who came together at the inaugural Spotlight Awards in San Francisco Jan. 20. The event allowed Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business to celebrate its graduates who are changing business for the better. Guests enjoyed drinks and a farm-to-fork dinner with fellow Mustangs from all industries. The college also honored two outstanding graduates with the inaugural Spotlight Awards, which shine a light on business leaders changing their industries for the better. The Green Spotlight Award went to Jessie Becker (Business Administration, ’11), co-founder of InPress Technologies. The Gold Spotlight Award went to Gary Erickson (Business Administration, ’80), founder and co-chief visionary officer of Clif Bar & Company. Check out videos on each of the award winners.
