Steve Hamilton

Dr. Hamilton is recognized internationally for his research and consulting related to agricultural markets, wholesale pricing of food products, supermarket pricing of fresh products and consumer packaged goods, environmental and land use regulation, energy and water markets, and antitrust issues. His academic and professional honors include receiving the Early Career Award for Outstanding Faculty Research, the Atlas Award from Elsevier Science for Research with Social Impact and the Quality of Research Discovery Award from the European Association of Agricultural Economics. He has provided plenary and keynote addresses at international research conferences, presented scholarly work at over 30 national and international conferences, and delivered invited seminars at over 20 different universities.

He has consulted with numerous companies on land and water use issues over the past 20 years and has published over 60 peer reviewed articles in leading journals as American Economic Review, RAND Journal of Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of International Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Environmental Economic and Management, American Journal of Agricultural Economics, and the Journal of Law and Economics. During his time at Cal Poly, he has secured over $4 million in federal research grants to support his research.
