Cindy Xin Wang
Dr. Cindy Xin Wang is an assistant professor of Marketing in the Orfalea College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. Her research broadly studies how consumer social interaction (i.e. customer engagement, consumer sense of power) influences the effectiveness of marketing communication and promotions. Wang researches topics at the intersection of consumer behavior and marketing strategy, with a focus on consumer power and relationships in the domains of retailing, pricing, and advertising. Her research has been featured in journals including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and Journal of the Association for Consumer Research. Dr. Wang currently teaches Marketing Research and Global Marketing. She is actively involved in promoting diversity and inclusion at Cal Poly through programs in and outside of the classroom. Dr. Wang enjoys and benefits greatly from working with students and colleagues from various backgrounds.
