Chris Hydock
Dr. Chris Hydock is an Assistant Professor of Marketing in Cal Poly’s Orfalea College of Business. In his research, Dr Hydock seeks to impact both theory and practice while promoting consumer interests. He employs a variety of methods in his research, including surveys, field studies, analysis of secondary data, and experiments. He focuses on contextual factors that influence consumption decisions and inform brand strategy; this includes streams of research that examine marketing tactics, marketing research, and corporate political advocacy. His research has been published in an array of top journals including Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Consumer Needs and Solutions, Appetite, and Behavior Research Methods.
Prior to his time at Cal Poly Dr. Hydock worked as an Assistant Professor of Research at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and with the Georgetown Institute for Consumer Research. He received his PhD from George Washington University and BA from the University of Colorado. Currently Dr. Hydock teaches Principles of Marketing; he has also taught Marketing Strategy and Analytics, and Research Methods.
