Brian Ayash

Dr. Ayash’s research is focused in the areas of private equity, distressed asset pricing and bankruptcy.  Dr. Ayash has written papers on the operating performance and investment patterns of large public-to-private leveraged buyouts, and returns to equity sponsors from leveraged buyouts.

At Cal Poly, Dr. Ayash will teach in the areas of corporate finance and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Ayash joined the Cal Poly Finance faculty in 2014. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University, MBA from the University of Rochester, and Master of Science and PhD in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Ayash also has experience working at PricewaterhouseCoopers, FTI Consulting, and Alvarez & Marsal Europe. Finally, Dr. Ayash is a certified public accountant, chartered financial analyst, and certified insolvency and restructuring advisor.
