Dr. Ajay Kathuria is a tenured Associate Professor of Industrial Technology and Packaging Department at the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo. Before joining Cal Poly, Dr. Kathuria was an Assistant Professor at University of Wisconsin system. During his teaching career, he taught various courses such as Packaging including Packaging Polymers and Processing, Packaging Fundamentals, Packaging Machinery and Processes, Instrumental Analysis of Packaging Polymers, Packaging Quality Assessment, Packaging Seminar etc.
His research work is focused on materials chemistry, green chemistry, biodegradable polymers, composites, mixed matrix membranes, nano-materials, high surface area porous compounds and host-guest complexes. He has co-authored various research articles in a range of interdisciplinary peer reviewed journals including Environmental Chemistry Letters, Green Chemistry, Polymer, Polymer International, Journal of Crystal growth, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Trends in Food Science and Technology among others. He co- authored various book chapters and presented his research work in various conference proceedings.
Ajay received M.S. and Ph.D. in Packaging Science from Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI.
