Introduction

In the past, project success has been defined narrowly as simply meeting time and cost constraints for a given scope of work. However, in order to make an IT project completely successful and sustain the information systems adopted, basic definition of success needs to be extended to include meeting return on investment expectations, product quality, stakeholder satisfaction, security, maintainability and adaptability. As more and more companies are integrating electronic business into their strategic activities, project management and evaluation of information systems are increasingly important to the business successfulness. There are many key issues to be explored and identified in IS project management such as a full set of project plans, including milestones, tasks, schedules, staffing, deliverables, and costs foreseen, for a complex software development project. It can also be analyzing a specific organizational setting with critical software needs and the performance measurement/post-adoption considerations of the needed plans. The purpose of this special issue is to explore effective and innovative use of project management and evaluation mechanism in the adoption of electronic businesses systems.

Topics of relevance to this special issue include (but not limited to):

Design, construction, use and evaluation of information systems projects Supply chain management and systems evaluation
Project management in B2C or B2B e-business
Control and evaluation mechanism for IS projects
Performance measurement and IS team work
IS projects in the multi-national enterprises
Identifying project scope for temporal and cost related considerations
Post project management: issues in the IS maintenance
The instrumentality as the enabler for IS project management – aspects of logistics, finance, and information technology associated with IS project support
Mutual ownership in IS projects: the stakeholder aspect (vendors, business owners, users, and IS professionals)
Control and evaluation of multiple IS projects
Applications of IS evaluations and projects management (SCOR, Balanced Scorecard, BPR, and etc.)
Theoretical frameworks
Anatomy of successful/failed cases

Original contributions and thoughtful survey and case studies papers, from both research and industry, are welcome.

Submission Instructions

A submitted paper must not have been published, accepted for publication, or presently be under consideration for publication elsewhere. A standard double-blind review process will be used to select papers for the special issue.
Electronic submission is required. Manuscript in PDF format must be emailed to the Guest Editor. A complete submission must include three separate PDF files: (1) the cover letter, (2) the title page, and (3) the manuscript without authors' names. These files should be submitted electronically to the Guest Editor. Please specify "IJEB Special Issue Submission" in the "Subject" of your e-mail message.
The submitted manuscripts should follow the format as outlined in the "Notes for Intending Authors" found on the IJEB Website (see URL below). Electronic submission in PDF format is required. Please follow the guidelines prescribed by "Submission of papers" on the IJEB Website.
Accepted papers must follow the guidelines posted at: http://www.icebnet.org/author/ to format the final papers.
