Dr. Eldon Y. Li is the University Chair Professor of the Department of Management
Information Systems at the National
Chengchi University (NCCU), Taiwan and an Emeritus Professor of California
Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo, California, U.S.A.
He is also the Director of NCCU Innovation
Incubation Center (IIC) and Center for Service Innovation (CSI). He was a Professor at the Department
of Information Management and the Dean of the College of Informatics, and the
Director of the Graduate
Institute of Social Informatics at the
Yuan
Ze University, Taiwan; a member of the Research Grant Review Board
for the National
Science Council of R.O.C. (2004-2005); a member of University
Evaluation Committee for the Ministry
of Education in Taiwan (2005); a senior professor of Management
Area (1982/1-2007/3) and the Coordinator of MIS Program (1986-1989;
2001-2003) at the Orfalea College
of Business, Cal Poly;
the Professor and Founding Director
of the Graduate Institute
of Information Management at the National
Chung Cheng University in Chia-Yi, Taiwan (1994-1996); a visiting
scholar of The Chinese University of
Hong Kong (1999-2000). He
holds a bachelor degree in international trade from NCCU and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
information systems and quantitative sciences from Texas
Tech University. He received five first-prize "Best Paper"
awards:
two from Quality Assurance Institute's refereed journal, one from Sun
Yat-Sen Management Reviews, one from
Information & Education, and one
from an international
conference.
In addition, he received the prestigious "Most-Outstanding Research
Award" from the NSC in 1995 and 2004; the "Presidential Award
for Outstanding Services and Contributions" from National
Chung Cheng University in 1996; and the prestigious The Second
Y.Z. Hsu Outstanding Professor Award (Science, Technology, and Humanity
Category) from the
Far Eastern Y.Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation,
Taiwan, December 31, 2003.
Dr. Li is a Certified
Data Educator (CDE) and is also Certified in Production and Inventory
Management
(CPIM) by APICS.
He was
a management consultant to the clientele of the U.S.
Small Business Administration, a software quality specialist
of Information Services Division at
Bechtel
Corporation, a visiting software scientist at IBM
Corporation, and a software productivity consultant at Software
Industry Productivity Task Force, Bureau of Industry,
Ministry
of Economic Affairs, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. He has published
over 150 papers in the areas of human factors in information
technology (IT), strategic IT planning, software engineering, quality
assurance,
information management, and business management. His papers have
appeared in
Communications of the ACM, Computers & Education, Information
& Management, Information Resources Management
Journal, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Management
Information Systems, Journal of Marketing
Theory and Practice, Journal of Quality Assurance Institute, Journal of
Systems Management, Quality Data Processing, among others.
