Mission

The mission of the Industrial Technology (IT) area is to provide its graduates with competencies that prepare them to be effective managers and entrepreneurial leaders in a rapidly-changing technological and global economy.  Those competencies include deep knowledge of industrial processes, an understanding of how contemporary business works in an international context, and a mindset to work with people to solve practical problems of innovation.

Students in labGoals

The goals of IT are fourfold:

  • To understand the changing needs of the industry communities that we serve, particularly the kinds of people they seek to hire
  • To offer a continually improved “learn by doing” educational experience for our students that will provide them with practical technical knowledge and skills, organizational intelligence and the confidence to lead
  • To maintain strong relationships with business and industry to maximize the employment options for our students
  • To produce graduates who will be professionally successful as well as exemplify business ethics and community values
