Although still early in the year, 2007 has already been an eventful year for Professor Dobson. His article, Aesthetics as a Foundation for Business Activity, was published in the Journal of Business Ethics. If you wish you can read the article at the following website: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s10551-006-9154-x
In January Professor Dobson attended a symposium in the UK at Durham University’s school of business. The symposium was for invited scholars only and focused entirely on the work of moral philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre. Professor Dobson is currently teaching Advanced Corporate Finance for the first time. Thanks to the computer facilities available in the Finance Area’s classroom (03-302 as you may remember) he is teaching this as a ‘paperless’ class: using web-based sources rather than a textbook, and giving all exams and assignments electronically. In Spring quarter he will resume teaching his regular class, Case Studies in Finance, and in Fall he plans to offer a revamped version of Ethics and Behavioral Finance.
