Southwest Economic Theory Conference 2011

February 26th, 2011 – February 27th, 2011
The Southwest Economic Theory Conference (SWET) is an annual conference on economic theory, applied theory, and experiments. In 2011 it will be hosted by Cal Poly at its campus in beautiful San Luis Obispo, on the Central Coast of California. The conference will take place on Saturday February 26th and Sunday February 27th, 2011. As usual, we will have an informal reception on Friday night and a conference dinner on Saturday night.
David Easley from Cornell University and John Geanakoplos from Yale University will be our keynote speakers.
There is no registration fee. Registration is now open.

* If you’re coming on the 101S straight to the conference venue: (1) Take the exit toward California Blvd, (2) Merge onto Taft St., (3) Turn right at California Blvd, (4) Follow these parking directions.
*If you’re coming on the 101N straight to the conference venue: (1) Take exit 203 C for California Blvd, (2) Turn right at California Blvd, (3) Follow these parking directions.
*If you’re walking from the Quality Suites to the conference venue follow these walking directions. Be aware that this is a 25 minute walk, so please plan accordingly.
Conference Accommodations
We have blocked 20 single rooms at $139 per night and 10 double rooms at $149 per night for Friday and Saturday nights at the Quality Suites, 1631 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. The room rates include a ‘made-to-order’ breakfast – waffles, eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, etc. If you wish to make a reservation there, call (805) 541-5001. Tell them you are with this conference to get the rate quoted above. The hotel is walking distance to both the Cal Poly campus and the San Luis Obispo downtown area. The hotel is holding rooms for the conference for a limited time, so please make your reservations as soon as you know you will be attending.
Alternatively, you may want to consider many of the other hotels that are within walking distance to Campus on Monterey Street.
If you are a PhD student and your paper was accepted at the conference we will reimburse shared double room accommodations and 50% of travel expenses.
