Competitions/Activities - 2004

Community Development Fellowship Grant

Aric Kinney, MBA and EMP Dual Degree graduate student, was the recipient of the Community Development Fellowship Grant for Fall 2004. This grant, which covers tuition for one full year, is awarded to an outstanding student who shows interest and enthusiam towards community development issues. Aric was selected based on his previous community involvement and his ongoing interest in contributing to his community.

1st place in the National Case Study Competition

A team of Cal Poly Agribusiness students placed first in the recent Student Case Study Competition sponsored by the Food Distribution Research Society. This is the third straight year that Cal Poly has garnered the first place award.

National Case Study Competition

Honorable mention in the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition

A team of students from Cal Poly's Graduate Program received honorable mention in the Graduate Division of the 40th Annual International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition in San Diego April 17th, 2004. The students were first and second year MBA students and the team's advisor was Professor David Peach. In the competition, teams of graduate students operated virtual companies in a computerized enterprise simulation.
