2nd place in the International
Collegiate Business Strategy Competition
A team of students from Cal Poly's Graduate Program
won second place in the Graduate Division of the 39th Annual International
Collegiate Business Strategy Competition in San Diego April 12th,
2003. The students were second-year MBA students and the team's
advisor was Professor David Peach. In the competition, teams of
graduate and undergraduate students operated virtual companies
in a computerized enterprise simulation.

1st place in the Scherr Business
Plan Competition
Two Cal Poly MBA students won first place and $4000
in the third annual Ray Scherr Business Plan Competition on Feb
5, 2003 at the Performing Arts Center. Their business plan was
designed for a Sacremento-based magazine called CenterVoice. MBA
students Paul Johnson and Ali Torabi made the winning presentation.
In all, 14 Cal Poly students and faculty members representing 5
teams vied for prizes totaling $7000 in the competition.
