courses, elective courses and several optional specializations. At
Cal Poly, you will obtain an MBA education focused on our philosophy
of "learn-by-doing". The in-class experience includes numerous
simulations of management decision-making scenarios, case studies,
team exercises, extensive interaction with faculty and other students,
and personal communication and presentation skills enhancement. The
coursework is designed to provide future managers with the ability
to make data-supported, ethical decisions.
The Value and Uniqueness of the Cal Poly MBA
The Cal Poly OCOB MBA program is accredited by the AACSB. We offer
a 60-64 unit daytime MBA program, consisting of 36-units of required
courses with the remaining elective units selected from a focused
group of advanced courses. This program is unique for a number of
reasons:
- No undergraduate business degree is required. Further, there
are no prerequisite course requirements to enter the program.
- An Accelerated Option - making it possible for a full-time student
devoting 100% attention to his/her studies, and, who follows a
prescribed course of study to complete the program in less than
a year (Track One - Accelerated Track).
For students not following Track One, it will take four, five
or six regular academic quarters to complete the program depending
on how a student structures and schedules his/her coursework (Track
Two).
- Relevant, current, challenging, and intellectually stimulating
courses from top to bottom. These include two short intensive
summer sessions1 to facilitate the completion of the
MBA program and/or follow the accelerated option requirements.
- The opportunity to work with outstanding faculty in a friendly
and professional academic atmosphere.
- The opportunity to live and study on California's
Central Coast - one of the most beautiful locales in the world
and located midway between the urban areas of Los Angeles and
San Francisco.
- Affordability - our MBA program is extremely affordable, especially
compared to programs offered by other schools.
