Sanjiv Jaggia
Dr. Jaggia is an applied economist with research interests in empirical finance and econometrics. He especially values research that is empirical, broadly defined, with appeal to both academics and practitioners. His research interests include testing for market efficiency, IPO aftermarket dynamics, and consumer credit issues involving rent-to-own agreements, and micro econometrics. Dr. Jaggia has published in journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, and Journal of Applied Econometrics. His work has been cited regularly in other published works, popular graduate textbooks, and newspapers. Dr. Jaggia is under contract with McGraw Hill to co-author a textbook on Business Statistics.
Dr. Jaggia has taught a wide range of courses in economics and finance both at the graduate and undergraduate levels. His experience includes teaching outside of academia in topics such as econometrics, forecasting, and finance. His courses have been extremely well received by students as well as working professionals.
Dr. Jaggia served as Senior Economist for the Beacon Hill Institute, a Boston-based think tank, for many years. His consulting experience includes providing technical advice to a start-up firm offering internet-based financial services to investors.
Dr. Jaggia joined the faculty in 2007 after seventeen years at Suffolk University, Boston. He received his PhD in Economics from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1990. He has also been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charterholder since 2003.
