Professional Experience
With over 25 years experience as a CEO in multiple industries including healthcare, software, venture capital and economic development, Dr. York brings an entrepreneur’s perspective to his role at Cal Poly.
He currently sits or has served on the boards of companies in software (both internet and packaged), biomedical devices, medical informatics, and information technology.
His career has included the following positions:
- Principal, Jonathan York & Associates - entrepreneurial and venture capital consulting
- Managing Partner, Reservoir Venture Partners. early stage venture capital firm
- Founder and CEO, fourthchannel, inc. – web-based supply chain software company
- CEO, Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce – economic development organization
- CEO, Franklin County Mental Health Board, Columbus, OH.
- CEO, Northeast Centers (healthcare group), Detroit, MI
He has recently been a Visiting Instructor in Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business, where he teaches in the MBA Program.
