Brian Correia and Dru Torvend

Brian Correia (Management ’05), left, and Dru Torvend (Marketing ’05) shared career stories at the Sacramento Alumni Reunion in November. Alumni reunions are a great way to connect with other Orfalea College of Business alumni. Look at the calendar on the left to find out more about an alumni reunion in your area. Thanks to Lori deMatteis (Business Administration ’85) for once again hosting the Sacramento alumni reunion!

Joanne Smith

Congratulations to Joanne Smith (Business Administration ’82) for her selection by the Wall Street Journal as one of the “50 Women to Watch in 2008.” Noted on the annual list are women who are poised to have an impact on the world of business, Joanne is the senior vice president for in-flight service and global product development for Delta Air Lines, Inc. at their Atlanta, GA headquarters. She is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the Orfalea College of Business and a native of San Luis Obispo.

entrepeneurship forum

Jesse Dundon (MSI&TS ’08), founder of ‘WiHire’, was a panelist at Cal Poly’s Entrepreneurship Forum in November. Co-sponsored by the Orfalea College of Business and the College of Engineering, the forum brought together alumni, faculty, students and community entrepreneurs to share their innovations. Saeed Amidi, founder of Plug and Play Tech Center in Santa Clara, also shared his story with the attendees. The event was the first in what we hope will be many more to come.
