Accounting firm KPMG has announced its selection of the Orfalea College of Business as the newest recipient of a KPMG Faculty Fellowship. Accounting area chair Doug Cerf has been named the first to receive the KPMG fellowship by Dean Dave Christy. The faculty fellowship is funded by a five-year gift commitment to the college by KPMG. The faculty fellowship will provide Cerf with annual support from 2007 to 2012.

Dean Dave Christy has been appointed vice-chair of San Luis Obispo’s Economic Vitality Corporation for the 2007-08 fiscal year. The Economic Vitality Corporation is a local non-profit economic development organization that provides business resources to help start and grow businesses throughout the county. Orfalea College of Business freshmen were here in force on Wednesday, September 12 for Academic Day during Week of Welcome. During the college Welcome, Industrial Technology area chair Lou Tornatzky was one of several faculty who were on the lawn answering questions and talking about concentrations with our incoming business freshmen.
