Dean Dave Christy has announced the appointment of Dr. Brian Tietje as the associate dean of undergraduate programs effective September 1, 2007. Tietje has been a professor in the marketing area of the Orfalea College of Business since 1998. Tietje replaces Dr. Doug Cerf, who has served as associate dean for over six years. Doug will become the chair of the Accounting area.
Dr. Tad Miller has been named the Ernst and Young Faculty Fellow for a five year term appointment. Funded by gifts to the college by Ernst and Young. The fellowship recognizes Tad for “dedication and excellence in the classroom over the years.”

At the Annual Awards Banquet for the Orfalea College of Business, Dr. Barry Floyd received the Emeritus Faculty Award for 2006-07 and Dr. Janice Carr received the Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award. Each professor was given a monetary award and a plaque honoring them will be on display at the college for the next academic year.
Incoming freshmen to the Orfalea College of Business were welcomed to campus by Kris McKinlay, Director, Student Advising Services, at Student Orientation, Advising & Resources (SOAR), while Laurel Lattanzio distributes materials.
