The
Cal Poly chapter of Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity was awarded
Best Community Service of any Chapter in our Region, our Province
and out of all 200 Chapters in the U.S. for 2005-2006 by the fraternity’s
national headquarters. One example of their community service was
their recent project
Stanley T.
Skinner, former chairman and chief executive officer
of PG&E Corporation, was a guest lecturer in Eddy
Quijano’s Governmental and Social Influences
on Business class to discuss policy and regulation in today’s
business world. Mr. Skinner addressed the importance of
communications, both oral and written, in business; the policy-making
function of the Board of Directors of a public company;
the business judgment rule in corporate decision-making; and
the importance of corporate social responsibility at PG&E.

Rob
Rossi (CAED ’76) met with Dave Christy after
his presentation to the Orfalea College of Business Student Ambassadors. Rossi
discussed his career path with the Ambassadors, both successes
and failures along the way. Rossi was still in college
when he was one of the founding members of the highly successful
local architectural firm Richmond Rossi Montgomery. He
is now the president of Rossi Enterprises, and responsible for
a variety of business enterprises from Los Angeles to San Francisco.
