… CONGRATULATIONS
to Marc Loupé (Accounting ’76 and OCOB Honored
Alumnus 1989) on his new position as Senior Vice President, Internal
Audit, with Computer Associates, Inc. In
this role, Loupé will be responsible for overseeing all the
Company's internal audit and risk management functions, including
assessing the adequacy of the internal controls associated with the
Company's financial, operational and information technology activities.
As a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the OCOB, Marc
provides the college with insight and advice.
...The Paperboard Packaging Alliance (PPA) held its inaugural Students Design Challenge in 2005 and Cal Poly came away with two out of three prize winners. Winning second place was Lauren Bienenfield, in third place were Sanuel Hsu and Aaron Chan. A total of 36 entries were submitted from six universities. A panel of paperboard industry professionals were the judges, and the winners received cash prizes as well as money for their university’s packaging program.

Keith L. Vorst joined the Orfalea College of Business in
September as an assistant professor in Industrial Technology. Vorst
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science/Food manufacturing
operations at Purdue University in 1997. After working for several
manufacturers for three years, he was awarded the Master of Science
in Packaging in 2002. In 2005, Vorst completed studies for his Ph.D.
at Michigan State in Food Science/Food Microbiology. He was president
of the Michigan State University Packaging Graduate Association 2000-2001,
received HAACP certification through MAK-BEA Laboratories, was a
1996 International Agriculture Alumni Scholarship winner, and was
a 2004 International Association for Food Protection-Developing Scientist
Award winner. Vorst has worked as a Contract Packaging Operations
Supervisor and a Quality Operations Leader at ConAgra Grocery Products
in Irvine.
