Tricia Compas (MS-Eng), center, was the winner of the Ray Scherr Business Plan Competition for 2008 with her H2OtoGo product. The Wheelchair Foundation Gala on April 12th was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of the Cal Poly students who worked to put on the event under the direction of faculty advisor Lynn Metcalf and project manager Josh Burroughs. A popular auction item at the event, donated by alum Quentin Lilly (Business Administration ’83), was this ‘Get Smart’ movie premiere package being auctioned by Gil Stork (Math ’64) and spotlighted by wheelchair team members Molly Tavella from San Jose (left)and Kehlee Rose from Long Beach.
Greeting parents and prospective students at Farmers Market on Thursday, April 17, the Business Council Executive Committee was busy sharing information and getting our prospective students excited about the events coming up for Open House. The Orfalea College of Business booth was a big success at Farmers Market, followed by two days of activities on campus.
Congratulations to management professor Kevin Lertwachara and wife Jennifer on the birth of their son, Daniel. Daniel joined the family on January 26, 2008 and is carefully watched over by big brother Ben!
