Company: Anschutz Entertainment Group

Company Website: http://aegworldwide.com

Position: Sales and Marketing Intern & Marketing and Business Development Intern

Location: Los Angeles

Found Internship By: Company Website

Best Part:

Being in the sports capital of L.A. LIVE. I am a huge sports fan, so being able to work for the parent company of the LA Kings, LA Galaxy, Staples Center, and Nokia Theatre was an amazing experience. I was given a lot of responsibility, and freedom with many hands-on projects. I enjoyed my experience so much I went to intern for them a second time.

Advice:

Go with your passion! Try to find an internship that not only incorporates your major/concentration but also an aspect of something you enjoy. Network as much as possible. Go to clubs and career fairs and get involved on campus. Also don’t forget about Faculty, they are a great resource and not only have awesome advice but might be connected to a company you would be interested in working for.

Company: TechXpress, Inc.

Company Website: http://www.techxpress.net/

Position: Marketing/Sales InternLocation: San Luis Obispo, CA

Found Internship By: Friend who also worked as an intern at TechXpress

Best Part:

The best part of having this internship during the school year was how much I learned to manage my time further. I knew that I had to schedule my studying and coursework around my working hours. Throughout the internship, I also became more aware of what I do and do not like about certain job positions. This way, I can pursue a career route that is more satisfying and enjoyable to me.

Advice:

My advice on the internship process is to learn as much as possible. If you don’t understand something, ask questions. If the workload is slow, ask your boss if it’s possible to go to other departments and ask if anyone there needs help. Internships are intended to benefit everyone in the process, but you have to be eager and proactive.
