Note to Newly Admitted Students: If your decision to attend Cal Poly includes a plan to change your major into Business, Economics, or Industrial Technology, you must consider that this is a competitive process based upon our limited capacity to accommodate additional students. Your first opportunity to apply for change of major consideration is after completing your first quarter in residence at Cal Poly.
The Orfalea College of Business Philosophy Regarding Changing Majors:
- The Orfalea College of Business wants to maximize the likelihood of student success. We require convincing evidence from our change of major applicants that they will thrive in our curriculum.
- The application process is a fair process by which available spaces are filled by the most qualified students.
Please review the Orfalea College of Business change of major requirements for all Cal Poly students.
Notice to Cal Poly Transfer Students: The Orfalea College of Business only allocates space for those transfer students who apply directly into the Orfalea College of Business. For this reason, students who transfer to Cal Poly under a different major will NOT be evaluated for the opportunity to change majors into the Orfalea College of Business.
