Appointments

The OCOB Advising Center strives to create a welcoming environment for all Cal Poly students, respectful of differences in ethnicity, culture, religion, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, and gender.

How To Make Them

  • To make an appointment please come into or call the Advising Center office. Depending on the demand during the quarter, we may be offering walk-in appointments. Please stop by during our regular office hours.
  • Be prepared to state your reasons for the appointment (all information is confidential). This is so we can review your file and prepare your paperwork.

What To Expect

  • The OCOB Advising Center utilizes a "Peer Advising Model" to accommodate the increasing demand for advising appointments.
  • Our Peer Advisors have received extensive training to be able to answer your questions and direct you to the appropriate resources for questions that we cannot answer.
  • Appointments with Academic Advisors are arranged for all academic issues. The appointments are made through Peer Advisors, then referred on to the Academic Advisor for review. Academic Advisors take walk-in appointments, and make appointments one week in advance. They also are available during Special Advising Sessions. Academic Advisors are the primary contact for students on Academic Probation or Disqualification Contract.
