Teams work on projects proposed by consumer brands such as Vans, Ella Moss and Splendid, in this one-quarter long project. Typical projects include maximizing e-commerce opportunities, characterizing and defining target markets, refining product concepts, and developing integrated marketing communications plans and marketing plans. Students produce deliverables that provide tangible value to clients such as website design concepts, purchase driver investment recommendations and loyalty building maps.

Sales Development Program

Explore the selling profession and develop selling skills. The core of the program is designed to enable students to practice their selling skills in preparation for the OCOB Sales Competition with the winner having the opportunity to travel, all expenses paid, to the National Collegiate Sales Competition in Atlanta, GA, March 1-4, 2013 (http://coles.kennesaw.edu/ncsc/). Both competitions provide the opportunity to gain valuable industry exposure and to win cash prizes in the process.

Social Media Marketing Senior Project

The way people shop has changed. Buyers are in much greater control of what information they receive and how they receive it. The Internet and the emergence of sites like Google, Yahoo, MSN, digg, and del.icio.us has changed modern business’ relationship with customers. Now, mobile media are again changing shopping behavior and the way we connect with customers. Buyers are able to get information about different vendors, products, and industries without direct interaction.

In this quarter-long project, student teams will implement social media marketing projects, employing some of the newest marketing methods, including

  • Social media optimization (SMO)
  • Search engine optimization (SEO)
  •  Pay per click (PPC) advertising
  •  Blogging and leveraging the blogosphere
  •  Buzz marketing
  •  Targeted landing pages
  •  Conversion tools and marketing analytics
